Follow God, Not Man
As his first act as King, Saul organizes an army and defeats the Ammonites who have besieged one of the cities on the eastern side of the Jordan River. The people who always believed wanted to kill those who doubted Saul, but Saul doesn't blame them. He is a man after all, and God was only working through him. So, Saul wants the people to trust in God and not in him. Samuel also reminds the people not to trust in their king, but in God. If they follow God, all will be well. If not, then their king will be useless to them
